FlightAbove vs TheFlightWall.

TheFlightWall is a dedicated LED display for the aircraft around you, or one flight you choose to follow. FlightAbove is a full-colour flight tracker display for the desk. LED Wall is a mode on that display, not the only thing it can be.

Both are one-time hardware with live aircraft and no monthly fee on the box itself. The split is the screen. A matrix stays a matrix. FlightAbove can look like an LED board, then show a photograph of the type, a radar, a map, a clock and a FlightLog of what passed the house. Hardware from £99.00, paid once, produced in the United Kingdom.

TheFlightWall's own site describes an LED display that shows aircraft flying around you, an airspace, or one flight, with no subscription. That is a fair product if a matrix is the look you want all day. FlightAbove is the better fit when the same desk should also show a real photograph and work as a clock.

Questions about FlightAbove and TheFlightWall

Is FlightAbove the same as TheFlightWall?

No. TheFlightWall is a dedicated LED matrix for aircraft around you, or one flight you track. FlightAbove is a full-colour desk display. LED Wall is one mode on that display, next to a photo, a radar, a clock and FlightLog.

Does FlightAbove have an LED flight wall mode?

Yes. LED Wall mode puts an LED-style board on Mini, Altitude, Horizon and Connect. You can leave that mode and come back to the photograph, the map or the clock on the same device.

Is either one a subscription?

FlightAbove Mini, Horizon, Altitude and Connect are paid once. Live data is included. TheFlightWall also sells hardware with no subscription. Cloud is FlightAbove in a browser, and that one is a subscription.

Which one shows a photo of the aircraft?

FlightAbove shows a photograph of the type, plus the callsign, height and speed, and the route when one is known. A dedicated LED wall is a matrix of text and symbols, which is the look some people want on its own.

Can I follow one specific flight?

Yes. FlightAbove can follow up to three flights on the tracker, or lock LED Wall onto one tail, flight number or callsign. TheFlightWall also tracks an individual flight. The difference is the screen you are looking at while you wait.

Is FlightAbove made in the UK?

Yes. Mini, Altitude, Horizon and Connect are produced in the United Kingdom. Prices on this site are in pounds.
