What Altitude is
Mini is for a small space, and it stays quiet. Altitude is for the middle of the desk, and it can make a sound. Same sky: a photo, a map, a clock, the weather, and the board look if you want it. FlightLog sits in your dashboard.

The sound
A sound when an aircraft you care about is overhead. Mini does not do that. Altitude does.
The case
The case is 3D printed in PLA+ or PETG. Fine layer lines are part of the finish. It is assembled and tested before it ships.

Who it is for
The middle of the desk. Callsign, type, photo, route. Hold the flight you are waiting for, and let it make a sound when it is close.
The round one that looks like a present and can sound like one. Paid once, produced in the United Kingdom. They pick the face later.
The plane goes over and the name is already there. A sound if you want the nudge. A clock when the sky is quiet.
What it looks like
Switch whenever you like. The board look is included. It is not a second thing you have to buy.
The flight
Callsign, airline, type, route, height and speed, on the round screen in the middle of the desk.
The photo
A colour photo of the aircraft overhead. A board of lights can list flights. Altitude can show the aircraft.
When it is quiet
Time, date and the weather when nothing is overhead. It stays the object on the desk.
The window
A live picture of traffic near home, with the track of the one you are watching.
The board look
Airline, callsign and how far is left, in the style of a departure board. Switch back to the photo and the map whenever you like.
How LED Wall worksOne flight, or the station
A tail, a flight number or a callsign stays on the board until it lands. When the space station is overhead, the same look can tell you to look up.

From the box
No app to install. Press and hold the screen to change the look, or use the dashboard in any browser. If the WiFi drops, Altitude keeps the last picture and joins again on its own.
01
Plug the power cable from the box into your own USB or USB-C supply, capable of 5.1V at 2.5 amps, then into Altitude. The screen wakes ready.
02
Scan the QR code on the card in the box. That opens your dashboard, where you enter your WiFi.
03
Altitude finds where it is and starts naming the aircraft overhead. You can change the look later.
In the box: Altitude, a power cable, and a quick-start card. You need your own USB or USB-C power supply, capable of 5.1V at 2.5 amps.
If you want a different size
Altitude is the 5 inch round display, with sound. Mini is the 4 inch square, visual only. Horizon is the 7 inch widescreen, with the desk display included. Connect is the lowest one-time price if you already have a screen. Cloud is 拢3.99 a month in a browser.
The facts
The sky, not the postcode
Altitude shows aircraft that are sharing their position. That is most places in the world, and it is fullest over Europe and North America. The display is produced in the United Kingdom. The sky is not limited to the UK.

This "FlightAbove Mini" is very good. Rather than have to look up a well known flight tracker app on my Mobile Phone every time, this sits beside my chair and is on 12 hours a day. I got stuck with the initial setup but Customer Service were excellent and understanding. They gave me all the help I needed. At 4 inches the screen is small making some text hard to read. There are multiple screen options though and with a bit of trial and error, I found one setup which suited my eyes. Do I regret buying this item? Definitely no!! I'm sure there will be updates to come which can only improve this excellent piece of kit for Aviation Geeks 馃檪.

I live under the Heathrow approach and for years I have been gazing up trying to identify aircraft. Now the answer is on my desk. I still look up, then I look down to check.

Setup took about a minute. Plugged in, connected to WiFi, and it started showing planes. My husband spotted his old airline within a few minutes. Easy gift, no homework for me.

Bought it for my dad. Build quality is solid and he had it running the same evening. He still texts photos of random airliners like I am meant to know what they are.
